Should we not then devise some means of getting thebenefit of all of them and of the further study that may be necessary?Should we not follow the suggestion that has been made in difi^erentquarters already, namely, that some plan should be adopted by whichthis whole subject can be gone into in the light of all of thesestudies and from a scientific standpoint. Why, for example, shouldnot the people who have made these contributions to the subject begiven a retainer, not only for the work which they have done, butfor the work which they may do, working jointly together for thebest final plan.* Let it be a work of enthusiasm.
