Belfast Store in the Heritage Precinct of the town of Cromwell in Central Otago, New Zealand. The original building dates from 1878 when it was opened by Sherwood and Wright. By 1885 it was trading as Sherwood and Co, Wine, Spirits and Provision merchants. Its last use was in 1978 when it was leased as a home appliance and TV store. It closed in 1992. The owner, Mrs Margaret Jelley, sold the building to the Ministry of Works. They demolished the building but later rebuilt it on the same site using the same stones. The stores current reincarnation is as an art galleryThe town itself was established during the Otago gold rush.
