As in other instances, for ex-ample Uhthoffs specimen of this affection, the blood is notentirely subdural, but in following its distribution in placesit may be noted that the arachnoid is also infiltrated. Thereappears to be no involvement of the optic nerve-fibers; i. e., there has been no entrance of blood into the tissue of thenerve. Although ophthalmoscopically many retinal hemor-rhages were visible, these do not appear abundantly in thespecimens submitted to microscopic examination, althoughextravasations of blood are evident here
