A model of an inmate in his cell inside the former Oxford Castle & Prison in the university city of Oxford in Britain. The prison was an early 13th-century medieval castle which was destroyed during the 1642-1651 English Civil War. In 1876 the castle was named HM Prison Oxford until it finally closed in 1996. It was redeveloped as a luxury Malmaison Hotel and visitor attraction as it is also a museum of the old prison.
