A Marind anim youth of the Ewati, class 1914 Okaba by Father Petrus Vertenten 1884 - 1946 Belgian Missionary of the Sacred Heart in Dutch New Guinea. Worked under the Marind-anim, a Papuan people in the wider area of Merauke that was notorious at the time for its headhunting and its bizarre, sexually-oriented fertility rituals.
