Floods hit Indonesian capital of Jakarta Jakarta, Indonesia. 9th February 2015. Continuous rain has left the downtown area of Jakarta City flooded with some blaming a poor drainage system and city planning. The downtown floods are showcasing one of the problems in the city already suffering from land subsidence and seawater infiltration, with its coastal areas also regularly hit by tidal flooding. Decades of poor city planning contributes to Jakarta's unability to deal with the booming of population and global warming impacts, experts say.
