Intermountain Forest and Range Ex- f)eriment Station and Southeastern Forest Experiment Station scientists cover both management of visitor use and resource protection and describe the relations between the two. This provides a basis for managing visitors with as little regulation and restriction as possible while safeguarding wilderness quaUty. The book has already been adopted in many university classrooms and is used as a standard reference by wilderness managers in all Federal land management agencies. Environment.
