Studies by the North Central Forest Experiment Station and the Forest Products Laboratory show that builder prejudices and architect intluences are major obstacles to greater use of trusses; that raw material procurement and lumber warp are major industry problems; and that variation within some lumber grades, conflicting interpretation of the same regulatory codes, and builders' lack of knowledge about trusses are major truss fabricator concerns.
